A few new projects

I had a great day yesterday!  One of those days....hot glue and materials all over the kitchen table, garage lights on and sanders and drills at the ready.  I had paint drying and coffee going!  I was a total scatter brain.  That's what happens to me when I have "one of those days"  I leave my coffee cup in various unknown places, and while looking I come up with a new idea and get started on it, then I find my coffee cup...purely by accident, and it leads me back to project #1 that is done drying, then I find another fun thing to add to the nest shoes upstairs on the table.  Whew....it can be exhausting being me on those kinds of days. But I'm happy with the results... here are a few of the projects I finished yesterday.  I hope you enjoy looking!

They are already down at Ozarks for sale. :)

Few things finished lately

I finished a painting that was on hold for a while. I brought it into Ozarks and it looks right at home among the velvet, old iron beds and drippy chandeliers.

I'm back selling at Ozarks

There is a great shop in Anchorage Alaska....it's called Ozarks! Here are a few pictures of this fun and flirty home decorating/gift store!

I'm so lucky ......I will be selling my own creations here, alongside a great group of creative women! Yipee!!

The fun of collage!

I have been having fun making collage lately. The process has gotten my creative juices flowing again. Here are a few of the ATC size I have created lately.
It has been a while since I have posted to my blog so forgive me if it seems stiff....I'll warm up with a few entries. I love using old or vintage pieces in the collages. I love the worn look they lend.

Alaska in the Fall

I just love this time of year! I took some pictures yesterday and thought I would share them. My dog Maggie and I took a beautiful walk yesterday morning, the sun is shining, the colors are everywhere, and that crisp chill in the air. It's times like these that I can't help but slow down and enjoy the ride, ya know what I mean?

Have a great one! :)

"Quiet Portrait"

I'm not sure if this one is finished, but I'd like to show what I've been working on. I like the mood and I just love the warm colors and contrast. But........I'm not sure if I want more there or leave it be, hmmmmm....

Thanks for looking. :)

"Moonlit Clown"

Sold
Original oil painting on primed masonite

6"x6"

He is also in the spirit of Halloween. He's a little sad, kinda creepy, but I've never painted a clown before and I've always been a little fascinated by them. Looking for them at state fairs, daydreaming about early 1900 circus shows. I read "Water for Elephants" this summer. An excellent book and it got my painters mind going with imagery and ideas for paintings!

"Moonlit Pumpkin"

Original oil painting on primed masonite

6"x6"

I'm in the mood for fall. The weather is starting to change up here in Anchorage, Alaska. Today was windy and a few leaves were blowing around the yard. I love this time of year. I also love Halloween and the colors ......orange, black, white, purple, yellow. Actually almost anything goes during Halloween. I always love looking at the early 1900's and the Halloween post cards of the time, not always cute, and usually a little scary.

I painted this one and was in the mood to use those dark and bright colors!

"Apple Blossoms"

"Apple Blossoms"

Original oil painting on primed masonite panel

6"x8"

I'm back! The kids are in school, and I'm painting again. I didn't realise I would be taking the summer off, but that's what happened. I sure missed painting...every now and then I snuck in a little time to paint something, but it was never very involved and usually something like illustrations. I have a few watercolors I'll post in a few days. I'd like to get them scanned and use them for notecards or something. :)

This is a painting I worked on back in June, when my apple trees were full of flowers. Now they are full of fruit and are in desperate need of picking!
Thanks for looking! Let me know what you think. :)

"Peas in a Pod"

12"x24" oil painting
Painted on stretched canvas, on a wood frame support.
This was just a fun play with a pea pod. Whimsical, colorful, the peas almost look as if they are going to tumble out of their shell. ;)
Thanks for looking!

Shady Passage

Sold
This is an oil painting that is of a University building in Idaho. It was a back door to professor's quarters. I loved the way the beautiful door was tucked so privately in this entrance, almost secretively.
